CDR: What have we learned and how do we do?

Starts at 17.00 until 19:00

The Zurich Carbon Market Association (ZCMA) together with the Swiss Carbon Removal Platform (CDR Swiss) would like to invite you for a joint event on carbon dioxide removal (CDR). We will explore what has been learned through the decade long experience in carbon markets for CDR and where this particular type of carbon market is heading. We will discuss how CDR is both similar and different to other carbon markets, its regulatory frameworks and certification standards, potential and challenges on the way to further scaling needed to achieve the Paris Agreement goals.

Experts and observers will present their insights and their analysis on practices and recent developments:

  • Nicolas Solenthaler (Swiss Carbon Removal Platform),
  • Florian Goppel (Zürich Carbon Market Association): Setting the scene and moderation
  • Eve Tamme (Climate Principles): CDR under the EU’s CRCF (remote)
  • Axel Michaelowa (Perspectives): CDR learnings and status under UNFCCC
  • Samuel Eberenz (Swiss Carbon Removal Platform): Interactive part
  • Anna Schulenburg (Permutation): CDR portfolios

Panel discussion moderated by the Swiss Carbon Removal Platform and the Zürich Carbon Market Association.

The event will be followed by a networking apéro.

For in-person participation in Zürich and the apéro you must have registered with the form below.

The event and networking apéro is charged at CHF 50 (Free for members of ZCMA and Swiss CDR as well as students). Virtual participation is free of charge. You receive the participation link and the billing information upon registration.
